Understanding Anatomy
"The anatomic basis of cellulite has not been totally explained. However, successful clinical outcomes with cellulite treatments that target the fibrous septae provide evidence that the pathophysiology of cellulite can be attributed to structural and biomechanical properties at the subdermal junction that lead to an imbalance between containment and extrusion forces which, in turn, produce the dimpled appearance characteristic of cellulite. As such, targeting the fibrous septae is the approach most likely to deliver lasting improvement of cellulite appearance."
